Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:

All of these questions have been asked at one point or another. We figured we'd put them all in one place. If you still have questions before your stay, please reach out!

What additional measures are you taking with COVID?
We have always been fastidious with our cleaning measures, but have instituted additional actions, which include: sanitizing high touch surfaces, sanitizing headboards and mattresses, no longer providing shared kitchen supplies such as spices/butter/oil/etc., airing out rooms between guests and during cleaning.
Upon request, we will: Keep windows open (weather permitting) after cleaning and before your arrival, leave linen out rather than making the beds to limit “touch,” as well as take other reasonable measures to make guests feel comfortable.
We are very proud and pleased to share that we have rented the farm throughout May-September of 2020, with same day turnovers, and have had no issues. Knock on wood!

Do you allow early check-in, late check-out?
During peak season, we cannot offer this, particularly given the extra cleaning measures we are taking with COVID. If renting between November and March, you may ask for this option 24 hours before arrival.

Do you allow boats, RVs, trailers on the property?
No

Can we swim in the river water? How deep is it?
Yes, you can swim in the river water. It is mucky at the bottom, but our kids don’t seem to mind. The depth ranges with the tide, but can be anywhere from 2-6 feet deep.

What kind of toys do you have? Do you have beach and pool toys/chairs?
Our toys are truly a random assortment of items that our own kids have enjoyed, but grown out of, or which guests have left for others to use. I like to think of the toys and games as kind of a “surprise.” However, currently, we have water colors, craft paper, crayons, deck of cards, monopoly, LEGOs, as well as a few adult and children’s books.
We do not supply pool toys, beach toys, chairs, or umbrellas. We have in the past, but they always end up breaking with the high frequency of use. So, if you see some items available during your stay, please enjoy! But, we can no longer guarantee these items.

Do you have firewood?
We often have 1-2 logs available for guests, but cannot guarantee this either. You may purchase firewood just a few minutes up the road at Bucks.

Are the trails easy to follow? Are there wild animals on the property?
Yes and Yes. There are a number of trails which take you on lovely paths around the property. We always say go with a partner!  The farm is on a nature preserve, so yes, there are many wild animals out and about to enjoy. We typically see: deer, many different bird species, a black snake or two, frogs/toads, turtles.

How deep is the pool, is it heated, and what is the water temperature?
The pool depth ranges from 3-8 feet deep. Do not dive in the pool! There are little “seats” in the pool which are fun for kids and adults. We do not heat the pool, and the water temperature is generally pretty chilly when it first opens in May, and is often bath water warm in August.  The pool is open May 1, and closes October 1st.

How often is the pool cleaned? Do we need to do anything?
We clean the pool the day of your check-in, as well as drop by in the early mornings every 2-3 days to check the skimmers and pH, etc. There is a robot which is in the pool. It goes on and off on a timer to clean the bottom of the pool. Please leave it in the pool so it can do its job. We welcome you to empty the skimmers or to use the net to clean any leaves out of the pool.

We want to take family pictures at the Farm. Is this OK? Do you have a photographer recommendation?
Yes, many families have taken pictures at the farm! It’s certainly a nice setting to do so. Unfortunately, we do not have a photographer recommendation.

Are there a lot of mosquitoes around the property?
Unfortunately, yes. Being by the water and surrounded by nature, mosquitoes seem to love our property as much as we do. There are ceiling fans on the back porch which help. The dock also seems to be a mosquito “free” zone as it offers a nice breeze. Other recommendations: avoid early evening when mosquitoes are most prevalent, cover up, and bring bug spray for times when you need it.
We also have tics (in season) on the property. Be sure to check yourselves and your kids for tics nightly!

What appliances and items do you have in the kitchen?
We currently have an oven, dishwasher, utensils, place settings for 10, serving platters, blender, K-cup and drip coffee machine, numerous pots and pans, and baking supplies. Many guests have cooked Thanksgiving dinner at the farm without issue. If there is something specific you want to ensure we have, please ask.

We would like to add someone to our Guest List that we’ve sent in. How do we do that? Can we have more than 10 people stay or visit?
Just send me an email with the guest’s full name, age, and address. We cannot offer exceptions to our 8 adult maximum, and 10 people total limit. This rule is set by the County.
